Revo has had a very strong stance on Sound Horizon's storytelling from day 1, even if people have been looking to a 2011 interview much more recently. I've come to find that people tend to like repetition, so I will repeat Revo's words for a third time. Sound Horizon's job is to present a story through music, and it is up to the listener to complete the story. There are intentional vague meanings, odd uses of symbolism, and so on. Revo always intended for it to be this way, and that much was even stated in Sound Horizon's very first release, Chronicle. That was way back in 2001.

Now, I don't think anyone reading this has been around quite that long, even if many of us do love Sound Horizon. It doesn't quite matter when we came around, either. We aren't obligated to fill in the gaps with well thought-out theories, or do anything but listen to the music. There is a massive market of people who only buy the regular editions of the CDs, after all. Revo simply creates a story and allows anyone to do anything with it.

Personally? I used to think that ABYSS was actually Sirius from Fire Emblem. Silly? Yes. But it wasn't grounded in reality. While I could still argue there is some inspiration from said character, I couldn't realistically say Revo's works are an extension of a video game and be taken seriously.

You are free to think anything you want with Sound Horizon. That is the first half of Revo's stance that he's had all along. The other half? It isn't your story, it's his.

Sound Horizon is a story/series of stories for the Listener to complete.

You can't decide that the Landlady is the main character of Roman, unless you branch off into the world of fanfiction. The general point of this message is to assert yes, all interpretations are valid, but that doesn't mean that you have a free pass. For you to be taken seriously by the community, your claims need something to back them up. Revo's works often take real life inspiration, for example. There's already been some discussions on Strophe Horizon about philosophy, religion, and culture. Things that are much more prominent outside of Sound Horizon than within.

If you are going to post a theory here, all I ask is that you put your heart into it, and try to have some lyrical, composition, or insightful evidence to help your claims, and we can help you from there if you like! Nobody is considered an authority, but we can help water the seeds of your ideas to bloom into a beautiful theory flower.
